The court found that although the applicant was guilty of dilatory conduct and ignorance of the law is not sufficient cause for delay, substantive justice requires that the applicant be allowed to file the inventory out of time. The court exercised its discretion to extend the time for filing the inventory, noting that no injustice would result from granting the extension. However, the applicant's letters of administration remain valid under the amended Succession Act and do not require renewal at this time.
