Purpose and legislative effect
“"Treaty" is defined to include conventions, agreements or other arrangements made under article 123(1) of the Constitution, subject to the proviso "unless the context otherwise requires".”
"Treaty" is defined to include conventions, agreements or other arrangements made under article 123(1) of the Constitution, subject to the proviso "unless the context otherwise requires". Ratification is performed by the Cabinet for treaties other than those referred to in paragraph (b). The Minister responsible for foreign affairs must sign, seal and deposit the instrument of ratification of a treaty, subject to section 2. All treaties ratified by the Cabinet shall be laid before Parliament as soon as possible. The Minister responsible for foreign affairs must be the depository in Uganda of all treaties.

Section 1
