The court found that it had jurisdiction to hear the matter as the contracts and recruitment of the plaintiffs occurred in Uganda, and the plaintiffs were Ugandan citizens. The cause of action arose partly in Uganda and partly in Iraq, but the plaintiffs were entitled to bring their claims in Uganda. The evidence showed that the plaintiffs knowingly applied for and signed contracts as housemaids, and the documentary evidence contradicted their oral claims of deception.
