The appellant failed to discharge the burden of proving that his oral employment contract was for five years rather than four, and failed to substantiate claims for salary arrears, gratuity, PAYE, and NSSF beyond what was already paid or remitted. The evidence showed the contract was for a fixed term of four years, which expired by effluxion of time, and the respondent was under no obligation to renew it or provide reasons for non-renewal.
