The court held that while the taxing master applied the correct legal principles and exercised discretion in accordance with the Supreme Court Rules and relevant case law, the instruction fees awarded (Shs. 30 million for taking instructions and Shs. 15 million for arguing additional grounds) were manifestly excessive given the circumstances and value of the subject matter (Shs. 70 million).
