The High Court held that only the advocate who was on record during the trial proceedings is entitled to present a bill of costs for those proceedings. M/s Tuhimbise & Co. Advocates, having only come on record after judgment, lacked locus to claim instruction fees for the trial period in HCCS No.092 of 2010. The bill of costs presented was fundamentally false as it purported to claim for services not rendered by the current advocates.
