Order I, rule 18 of the Civil Procedure Ordinance confines the third party procedure to determining the liability of the third party to make contribution or indemnity to the defendant and does not empower the defendant to seek joinder of the third party as a co-defendant. The Ugandan rules must be applied as they stand, without importing the broader English procedures under Order XVI A.
