The trial court failed to comply with the mandatory procedure for recording a plea of guilty as required by section 124(1) of The Magistrates Courts Act and the principles in Adan v. Republic. The prosecutor merely stated 'facts are as per charge sheet' without narrating the facts to the court or the accused, and the accused was not given an opportunity to confirm or dispute the facts.
