The court found that the plaintiff's vehicle was damaged as a direct result of the pump attendant at Total Rwizi Service Station negligently dispensing petrol instead of diesel. The evidence established causation between the wrong fuelling and subsequent malfunctioning of the vehicle. The defendant, as the principal and owner of the branded station, was vicariously liable for the actions of its agent.
